Yan Xu
Hi! I am a CG Artist, Visual Effect Designer, and Technical Director with a background in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts. My work bridges the gap between cinematic storytelling and media technology, drawing on professional experience in well-known CG visual content for Amazon, MGM, AMC, and Netflix.
I specialize in full-pipeline CG development, with a particular focus on procedural workflows, offline, and real-time rendering. Beyond traditional film and TV, I have extensive experience designing for immersive platforms, including creating 16K content for the Las Vegas Sphere. I am driven by the technical challenge of optimizing complex visual systems, exploring Python, VEX, and Unreal Engine 5 to push the boundaries of spatial narrative and digital aesthetics.
